The research platform treats a participant ID, identity profile, linkage record, consent record, and research evidence as distinct data layers rather than one combined profile.

Participant ID policy

P-2026-00417

Participant identifiers should be generated, study-scoped, and carry no initials, birth dates, organization codes, or other identity clues.

Privacy rules

Research access should not imply identity access.

Anonymous studies do not create an identity-to-participant linkage.

Pseudonymous studies use participant IDs in research evidence and analysis.

Names and contact details are never used as research record keys.

Routine exports omit direct identifiers and linkage data.

Re-identification access is exceptional, role-limited, and auditable.

Withdrawal, retention, and deletion behavior follows the approved study configuration rather than ad hoc researcher action.

Language boundary

Anonymous and confidential are not interchangeable.

When Convera retains no identity link, the study may describe responses as anonymous. When identity exists separately and can be reconnected under restricted conditions, participant-facing language should describe the data as pseudonymous or confidential instead.
